DOCUMENTO 7186. OFICIO DE TOMÁS DE HERES PARA EL TENIENTE CORONEL RAFAEL CUERVO, FECHADO EN GUAYAQUIL EL 18 DE FEBRERO DE 1823, EN EL CUAL LE ORDENA SEGUIR PROCESO AL SUBTENIENTE MANUEL ANTONIO LÓPEZ, POR DELITO DE DESERCIÓN.*

Sírvase usted proceder al momento a seguir proceso al Subteniente Manuel Antonio López arrestado en la Prevención del Ba­tallón Pichincha, por las causas siguientes:

1º Por haber desertado del expresado Pichincha siendo distinguido.

2° Por haber cometido igual crimen siendo Oficial del Vargas. Los actuales Comandantes de estos cuerpos podrán certificar sobre estos particulares, y además podrá usted examinar a los que le parezca. También se ha de extender usted en el proceso a descu­brir quién propuso para Oficial a López, y quién lo hizo. Conclui­do que sea todo lo pasará usted a mis manos.
