To His Excellency General Bolívar, President of Colombia, etc. etc. May it picase Your Excellency:
I have been a long time sénior Captain in the British Legión, and seeing a prospect of promotion I hope Your Excellency will by pleased to take into consideration my claims on the service for my exertions in England, together with a considerable expence in the raising and recruiting of men for this service, for the veracity of which I refered General Páez to Colonel Blosset, who was also pleased strongly to recommeend me to His Excellency.
I have the honour to be Your Excellency´s most obedient humble servant.

Este oficial tiene una recomendación fuerte del Sr. Coronel Blosset[ 2 ], quien también pasó su solicitud al Sr. General Páez como acreedor a ella. —
